A non-NDAA compliant Hikvision camera system was installed in Fall 2021. It is unknown what the total installation/service/repair costs are and what measures are in place to ensure the system is secure, footage is used properly, and cameras are working.
Good lighting in our walkways and driveways is crucial for both safety and security. It discourages trespassers and potential dangers, while also preventing trips and falls at night.
A malfunctioning intercom isn't just a nuisance; it's a security vulnerability, compromising building access and potentially allowing unauthorized entry. If there's an emergency, a broken intercom can cause delays getting help inside the unit .
The main entrance gate is prone to problems posing a chronic challenge for everyone accessing the property. It hinders legitimate entry for residents, authorized visitors, deliveries, service, and emergency vehicles. There have been multiple replacements and repairs to the gate.
On May 3, 2024, a gas leak in Building 1 required the Wood-Ridge Fire Department to force entry and break down a door. This incident revealed critical gaps in our Complex's emergency protocols, need for routine common elements inspections and clearly documented, accessible emergency procedures. The safety of our community is paramount.
2024 Fire Prevention Bureau inspections revealed violations, such as missing quad hallway Fire/CO alarm (pictured). To safeguard life and property, it is imperative that we have our own routine inspections and testing for all common elements safety equipment.
Using unit numbers on parking spots lets anyone know when a resident is home. To protect privacy, we should assign parking spaces numbers independent of unit numbers on the "Reserved" signs. This improves security and saves money by removing the need for custom unit-specific signs.
For safety, parking decals stickers must not identify West Ridge Mews residents and their unit number to the general public. To protect residents' privacy, we need to transition to generic car decals.
